  • Question: I have an option to sell my GF GTX 1060 3gb Zotac AMP!Edition for 240euro and buy a 8month old r9 fury Nitro for 210e, its working great. Is this a good replacement/upgrade?

    Answer: to be honest i have hard time recommending the fury series at such low resolution. the fury usually shine the best at much higher resolution (like 4k) but at such very high res it's 4GB of VRAM can be an issue unless AMD make specific optimization to that game. and don't be surprise if in certain title (at 1080p) the Fury barely any faster than your current 1060 3GB. it is because of this inconsistency that i having hard time recommending the fury series. back when the price still not inflated to super crazy level because of mining if you only play at 1080p i would recommend RX480/580 more over the fury even if the fury can be had just for a bit more.

  • Question: I can't decide between this two cards. I can get them both at the same price, but since I'm making a build I would like to know which one is more future proof for FullHD(1080p) gaming.

    I know 1060 just released a couple of months and R9 Fury is a year old already, but is that relevant? Also 1060 has 6Gb vs the 4Gb the R9 Fury has. Some insight would be appreciated.

    Answer: The R9 Fury Nitro is a slightly upgraded version of the standard R9 Fury.

    GTX 1060 performance - 3855 GFLOPS, 120 GTx/s, 72 GPx/s, memory bandwidth 192 GB/s, power draw ~ 120 W. Has 6 GB VRAM

    R9 Fury Nitro performance - 7526 GFLOPS, 235 GTx/s, 67 GPx/s, memory bandwidth 512 GB/s, power draw ~ 300 W. Has 4 GB VRAM

    So the R9 Fury Nitro is (theoretically) the faster performing video card, but at the expense of considerable power consumption (300 W).

    Debatable as to whether the 6 GB of VRAM on the GTX 1060 is of significant advantage over the 4 GB VRAM on the R9 Fury Nitro. But at 1080p, 4 GB should be more than enough memory to run just about any video intensive game / application.

  • Question: I sell my old PC and now I need buy new card .

    In old PC I use MSI GTX980 . I have LG 29 ultrawide 2560x1080 resolution .
    Its work great for my GTX980 .

    Now I dont know what card I will buy .

    Sapphire r9 fury > MSI gamingX gtx1060 6gb >Gainward GTX980 > STRIX r9 390

    Now , I will buy r9 390 from my friend but I dont know if that card perform well like gtx980 or less but not more than 10-5% .

    R9 Fury is better than 1060 6gb by 4% on 1080p , 8% in 1440p , 18% in 3840x2160 at the same price point.

    I guess its perfect for those who want a little extra juice out of a gtx 1060 6gb without Overclocking their card.Avoiding FPS dips under 60 on 1080p etc

  • Question: So in my current pcpartpicker build, there is a gtx 1060 FTW 6gb. I was trying to shave off some money and I found out that there was an R9 Fury going for 30 dollars less than the 1060. I looked at user benchmark and found out that the R9 Fury was faster. Should I go for the fury or stay with the 1060 or perhaps an Rx 480? Temps do not really matter for me because it is hot where I live and I have to have the air conditioner on all day.
