Questions and Answers

  • Question: Hi
I want to buy a new 1050 and I wan to know if it´s worth keep my current gtx 650 ti if I install a new 1050 ti, or just leave only the new 1050.

    My system is:
    cpu: core i5 3 gen
    Memory; 16 gb
    GPU; gtx 650 ti
    PSU; 500 wats
    Board Asus P8Z77-M PRO

I no longer play on this system, its used mainly as media server but i want to give it a boost for some games.

Answer: only your new card but uninstall all your 650ti drivers first. Tho for a 3rd the price i got an Sapphire Pulse 560 OC 4G videoram. Fantastic card running on an i5 2400 with 8gig ram running games like THe Witcher 3 on medium High settings with ease. Under rated card for price & value it eats my old 650ti.

  • Question: Currently i'am running Gtx 650 1gb..thinking of upgrading to gtx 1050 ti. What would be the performance difference ? Could i play upcoming AAA games with decent settings at 60 fps at 1080p !?
Or any other GPU suggestion? What if i get gtx 780 ti in decent price too ?

What are your complete system specs? It's difficult to determine what would be the best price-to-performance for you without them.

Currently i am having kinda noob specs :p
    Gpu : gtx 650 1gb Gigabyte OC
    Ram : 6 gb DDR 2
    Cpu : Core 2 quad q9505 2.8Ghz non.oc
    Machine : HP 7900
I will upgrade to whole new pc ... Not just only GPU

I still suggest the 1050 Ti that can be transferred to your new build. That 780Ti performance may be handicapped by that CPU. The 1050 "fits" better.

Bro, i amgoing to build new PC !!
    What about these specs ?

    CPU : i7 3770
    Ram : 8 Gb DDR3
I would need motherboard suggestions too for 3rd Gen cpu !!
I got GTX 780 ti offer for 220 USD .. What do you think ?

That helps. I didn't know WHEN that upgrade would happen. https://www.amazon.com/Intel-DZ68DB-Desktop-Motherboard-LGA-1155/dp/B0052WE4OY/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1477007812&sr=1-5&keywords=socket+1155+motherboard&refinements=p_72%3A1248879011 .

That's just too close. For a more https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6161-KR/dp/B01IPVSGEC/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1477008045&sr=8-5&keywords=1060%2B6GB&th=1 can be yours. Those two card on par with each other but with 6GB higher resolutions favor the 1060, easily.

Up to you man. I'd be more comfortable with a modern GFX card.

  • Question: Hello

I wanted to buy a gtx 1050 Ti when i have right now gtx 650 Ti

The full name of the gtx 650 is Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti
The full name of the gtx 1050 Ti is EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SSC GAMING ACX 3.0, 4GB GDDR5, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 04G-P4-6255-KR

i ment that if the size and stuff like that will not be a problem to change it.

I can't say because I have no idea what kind if case it is going in. But it will be easy for you to check. The card's dimensions are:
    Height: 4.376in - 111.15mm
    Length: 9in - 228.6mm
Open the case and measure. But that is a pretty standard size card.

  • Question: New to forum so help is appreciated

Answer: Perfect. So yeah upgrading to the 1050ti or even the 1060 3gb or 1060 6gb would be a decent upgrade. I personally would go with the 1060 if you can afford it, because it is quite a bit more powerful than the 1050ti, but yeah, do your thing.

  • Question: Hello all , so my friend has gtx 1050 ti with core i5 650 3.2mhz and 8 gb of ram . So he though it will not run a 2017 games at high or ultra , so he tried some games , he tried battlefield 1 actually it works like 40 - 49 fps on ultra i mean thats really works , gta 5 on ultra get 45 fps , watch dogs 2 he cant reach ultra he gets like slow mo gameplay , so he put it on high and get 39 fps , so i want to get the same pc of my friend , what do u think about these game performance and etc... And tell me if i can get the same of my friend ... Much appreciate

Answer: If you were playing on ultra with a 1050 Ti and had magically had no processor bottlenecks at all:

Watch Dogs 2: about 30 FPS
    BF1: around 40 FPS

If you turned things down to medium or low you could get higher framerates. Ultra really is going to bring down your FPS on that card. It wasn't designed for playing on ultra. Even if you had a Core i7-5960X you'd still only get 30FPS in Watch Dogs 2. Your graphics card is the primary determiner of your max frame rates. Anyone that says otherwise is misinformed. If you want to play on ultra I would get a GTX 1060 minimum and move to a new platform. If you got a good GPU like a GTX 1070 you'd then have issues with your CPU hard bottlenecking you.

Upgrading to a 6th gen is not really a smart thing to do. Ever. It's a dead platform. You'd be better off just buying a 7th gen prebuilt. Probably isn't a bad idea actually as you really need both a new CPU and GPU. The only thing less appealing would be building a gaming PC with an old gen Core i3. Prebuilts are a very cost effective solution right now.
